Jack Lee May, age 71, of Route 1428, Allen, Kentucky, formerly of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at the Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Born August 21, 1940, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James and Hazel Puckett May. Besides his parents, his previous wives, Frieda Goodwin May and Evelyn Barker May, preceded him in death. Jack is survived by his wife, Jean Gibson May; two stepdaughters, Rachel Williamson of Ivel, Kentucky, and Carla Coen of New Castle, Indiana; two granddaughters, Jackie Mueller and Melissa Schaeffer; one brother, Bill May of Morehead, Kentucky; and one sister, Margaret Lyons of Shirley, Indiana; nieces and nephews, other family, and many friends. Jack had been a self-employed brick mason and retired as owner and operator of J & J May Music in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He was a member and trustee of Dotson Pentecostal Church of God and loved playing the guitar and singing for the Lord. He will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Wiley Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the May Family Cemetery. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
