J. Clement Mathis, age 69, of N. Blair Avenue, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at his residence. Born July 10, 1941, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, he was the son of the late Clement Mathis, and Anice Powellson Mathis. Mr. Mathis is survived by one son, James A. Mathis of Morehead; two daughters, Heather Mathis of Morehead and Eileen (Clint) Rhodes of Cottage Grove, Oregon; one brother, Alfred Mathis of Sacramento, California; one sister, Marcine Freeman of Idaho; ten grandchildren, Clinton Richardson, David Rhodes, Bradley Rhodes, Adam Rhodes, Brandee Rhodes, James C. Mathis, Danielle Mathis, Kaylynn Vance, Serenity Mathis, Anela Woody; and four great grandchildren, Raylynn Rhodes, Levi Rhodes, and James -Malachi- Mathis. Mr. Mathis was a former electrical millwright and enjoyed making jewelry. At the family-s request, there will be no visitation or service.
