Iris Jeanette Stone, age 84, of Boodry Place, Morehead, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, at the Life Care Center of Morehead.

Born July 28, 1937, in Morehead, she was the daughter of the late Donald Stone and Bessie Florence Sloane Stone.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, David Stone, in 1974.

She is survived by one son, Steve Stone and wife Debbie of Morehead; one sister, Louella Lowe of Lexington; two grandchildren, Trevor Stone and wife Halle of Morehead, and Tabitha Sims and husband Clark of Wesley Chapel, Florida; four great grandchildren, Sadie, Joey, and twins Levi and Roman; and other extended family and friends.

She received her Associate's Degree from Morehead State University and served as librarian at the Camden-Carroll Library at Morehead State University for over 20 years.

Jeanette loved attending church and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed oil painting, writing, and researching her family's genealogy.  Her presence will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Graveside services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2835 Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, KY 40351 with Pastor Matt Richardson officiating.

At her request, there will be no visitation.
