Ileen Sloan DeHart, age 88, of Christy Creek Road, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born August 25, 1928, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Melvin and Ellen Trent Sloan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth Lee Dehart, whom she married December 30, 1950; two sons, Darrell DeHart and infant Garrell DeHart; three brothers, Fonza, Lonnie, and Harold Sloan; and four sisters, Audrey Pennington, Ivory Crose, Eula Conley, and Stella Fraley. Mrs. DeHart is survived by a daughter, Brenda DeHart of Elliottville; three brothers, Dennis Sloan, Kenneth Sloan, and Richard Sloan, all of Olive Hill; three sisters, Guyan Mabry, Louise Adkins, and Maxine DeHart, all of Morehead; and several nieces and nephews. She was a homemaker and was of the Church of God faith. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Larry Hamm and Bro. Don Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jesse Burton, Brandon Sloan, Dale Sloan, Richard Sloan, Bobby Ray DeHart, Leo DeHart, and Richard Carpenter.
