Hubert L. Clark, age 69, of Brinegar Road, Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday, August 31, 2012, in a motorcycle accident in Rowan County, Kentucky. He was born July 17, 1943, in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Emmitt Clark and Myrtle Sloan Clark. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Clark. Hubert is survived by his wife of 48 years, Roberta Nickell Clark; four children, Bruce Wayne Clark and wife Karen of Georgetown, Kentucky, Jeffery Lee Clark and wife Kathy of Winchester, Kentucky, Loretta Clark Gilliam and husband Rodney of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Michael Dean Clark and wife Danielle of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and nine grandchildren, Joshua 'P' Gilliam, Brandon Matthew Clark, Wesley 'Woo' Gilliam, Michayla Francis Anne Clark, Emily Katherine Clark, Wyatt Dean Clark, Bryana Cornwell, Alyssa Cornwell, and Matthew Clark. Hubert was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran and a retired independent cross country truck driver. He began trucking at age 16 and was recognized for his professional, courteous service with numerous awards throughout his career. He enjoyed people and delighted in telling stories and making people laugh. Always a generous man, Hubert helped strangers and friends alike. He was well loved and was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Michael Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Sloan Cemetery, Brinegar Hill, in Carter County, with military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers: Wesley Gilliam, Anthony Nickell, Brandon Clark, Jake Nickell, Colby Lewis, Murphy Nickell, Ron Sloan, June Nickell.
