Homer Montgomery, age 80, of Bayou Lane, Salt Lick, Kentucky, who had been a resident of the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2009, at the Hazard Regional Medical Center. Born December 21, 1928, in Magoffin County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Troy and Hazel Arnett Montgomery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Brad Montgomery and Brian Montgomery. He is survived by one granddaughter, Crystal Ann Montgomery of Candler, North Carolina; two great grandsons, Trendon Holt and Kyler Holt, both of Candler, North Carolina; four brothers, Chalmer Montgomery, Cass Montgomery, and Delmer Montgomery, all of Bath County, Kentucky, and Kenneth Montgomery of Orange Beach, Alabama; two sisters, Maxine Price of Springfield, Ohio, and Lula May Maze of New Carlisle, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Montgomery was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired pipeline foreman for Bush Contractors. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Brad Montgomery Memorial Cemetery in Polksville, Kentucky, with full military rites conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351. Visitation: Tuesday, September 15, 2009, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at 1 p.m. Interment: Brad Montgomery Memorial Cemetery, Polksville, KY
