Hildreth Fern Howard Marcum, age 71, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009, at Kindred Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Born December 29, 1937, in Rowan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Orville and Peachie Black Howard. Surviving are Fern-s husband of 53 years, Leonard Ellis Marcum, whom she married December 23, 1955; one son, Lenyol Allen Marcum of Dayton, Ohio; and 7 grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Janie Dockery of Morehead, Kentucky, Maudie Darlene Presley of Springboro, Ohio, and Anne Caskey Money of Ewing, Kentucky, and one brother, Scottie Howard of Indianapolis, Indiana. Fern was a homemaker and member of the Miamisburg Assembly of God. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gary McQuain officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
