It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Hezekiah Thurman Curtsinger, also known as “Pockets,” in Morehead, Kentucky. Hezekiah went to his heavenly home on July 8, 2026, at the age of 87.
He was born on March 3, 1939, in Washington County, Kentucky, to Robert Campbell Curtsinger and Buleah Chesser Curtsinger. In addition to his parents, he was precteded in death by his sisters, Lois Curtsinger Rickert, Juanita Curtsinger Peyton, Elizabeth Curtsinger, and Mary Curtsinger Bryant.
Hezekiah is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Hildreth Ramey Curtsinger. His children: Lisa Curtsinger Manuel (Jay), Vance Curtsinger (Michelle), Kelly Curtsinger (Vicki), Tim Curtsinger, and Sue Woford (Bob). His grandchildren: Drew, Emily, Nicole, Cortney, Josh, Chris, and Jim. His great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Lane, Ava, Cora, Miles, Remi, Phoebe, Violet, Ryleigh, Tyler, and Clay
Hezekiah lived a life defined by worshipping our Lord, loving his family and friends. A member of Charity Freewill Baptist Church, his faith was a major part of his life. He spent many years pipelining in 49 states of our America. He took pride in providing for his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family, neighbors or friends.
Hezekiah enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and cheering on the CATS! He loved his church, family gatherings, his grandchildren, and great grandchildren, fish frys, and being involved in the KY Long Rifle Association. Above all, Hezekiah was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, love and support during this difficult time. Although we will miss him every day, we have comfort in knowing he is with our Lord. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His love will remain in our hearts forever.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate his life on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Following the visitation, a celebration of life service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Robert Kidd officiating.
Burial will follow at the Clearfield Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Earl Kidd, Charlie Kelly, Drew Southerland, Josh Curtsinger, Chris Curtsinger, and Paul Ramey.
