Herbert Madden, age 83, of Trumbo Road in Carter County, Kentucky, departed this life Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born November 4, 1928, in Carter County, Kentucky, to the late Dewey and Letha Price Madden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Denver Madden and Earl Madden. He leaves family to mourn his passing which includes his wife of 61 years, Jeanette Fultz Madden, whom he married April 14, 1951; six sons, Jeffery Madden of Morehead, Kentucky, Steven and Rita Madden of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Gary and Tammy Madden of Morehead, Kentucky, Phillip and Jennifer Madden of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Jerrild and Diane Madden of Lexington, Kentucky, Loren and Melissa Madden of West Liberty, Kentucky; two sisters, Ruby Ferl Hays of Circleville, Ohio, and Carolyn Speck and husband Dan of New Castle, Indiana; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He also leaves behind other relatives and friends as well as brothers and sisters in Christ who will miss him too. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired heavy equipment operator. He was a member and deacon of the Soldier Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Delmar Logan, Jr. and Brother Elwood Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Bowen Chapel Cemetery in Carter County. Grandsons, Ross, Matthew, Josh, Caleb, Asa, and Collin Madden, will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Chalmer Utterback, Virgil Ray Garvin, James Childers, and Wales Trent. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
