Dr. Henry Glover, Jr., a native of Morehead and longtime resident of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away January 21, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ft. Thomas. Born November 24, 1929, to the late Henry and Stella Dillon Glover, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Lottie Marie Glover Goodykoontz. Dr. Glover is survived by a niece, Georgeanne Chandler of New York; a nephew, Robert Goodykoontz of Florida; and longtime girlfriend, Patricia Elzey of Northern Kentucky. Henry, a graduate of University Breckinridge School, earned his bachelor's and master's degree at Morehead State University and his Ph.D. in art at Illinois State University. A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean War. While teaching at Morehead State, Dr. Glover was promoted to full professor in 1968 while serving as department head. He also taught at Illinois State College, Woodward High School in Bond Hill, The University of Kentucky, and the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati. In the early 60's while in Buffalo, he hosted two 'live' TV series on art. His artistic accomplishments included receiving 1st Prize in the Ohio Valley Oil and Watercolor Show and being named one of Kentucky's 25 leading artists in an exhibit at the J B Speed Art Museum. One of Henry's most unique educational experiences was his perfect attendance. He never missed a day of school from kindergarten through graduate school and all the years he taught. At his request, private graveside services were held at Stewart Cemetery in Clearfield. Arrangements were under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
