Helen Gay Wells Moore, age 86, of Johnson Avenue, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 27, 2012, at St. Joseph in Mt. Sterling. Born March 31, 1925, in Montgomery County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Wells and Laura Wells. She was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Wells, and her husband of 70 years, William -Wes- Moore, who passed away on June 25, 2010. Mrs. Moore is survived by two daughters, Judy (Johnny) Jefferson and Sherry (Ronnie) McVey; two sons, Richard (Brenda) Moore and Doug (Judy) Moore, all of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter. Mrs. Moore was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at the First Church of God with Kevin Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Pallbearers: Nathaniel -Tate- Ellis, Jimmy Robinson, Dustin Vance, Michael Ray Moore, Keith Ruthenburg, and Chester Shepherd. Honorary Pallbearers: Frankie and Evelyn Carr, John C. Toy, Rosemary Shepherd, and WCG Quilters. Visitation will from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012, at the First Church of God, 1051 Camargo Road, Mt. Sterling.
