Obituary

Helen Broyles Black, 86, of Dacula, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016. Helen was born November 18, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Emmett and Selma Broyles. Helen got her strength from her family, friends, and The Lord. She was a member of the Red Hat's Society, enjoyed playing Bingo, shopping and dining out. Whenever a loved one felt broken, Helen was always there to pick up the pieces whether it was a soft touch, hug, or simply expressing gentle, helping words. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Dewie Black; two sons, Charles (Lynn) Black and Kenneth (Kathy) Black and daughter Patricia Black, all of Georgia; a sister, Zola Dycus of Indiana and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her son, Alvin James, and sister, Mary Kate Humphrey. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ray Sword officiating. Interment will follow at the Caudill Cemetery, Sharkey (Route 158). The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 14, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Visitation: Wednesday, September 14, 2016, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Northcutt & Son Funeral: Thursday, September 15, 201, 2:00 p.m., Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel Interment: Caudill Cemetery, Sharkey Road, Route 158
