Helen Virginia Beard Francis, age 89, of Morehead, formerly of Pike County, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Flemingsburg.

She was born October 20, 1934, in Coburn, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Orbin Beard and Mary Taylor Beard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Reed Francis, and five siblings.

Mrs. Francis is survived by two children, Floyd Francis and wife Vonda of Morehead, and Maryann Thornsberry of Bristol, Tennessee; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.

Helen was a homemaker and loved caring for her family. She attended Highland Presbyterian Church in Canada, Kentucky, and enjoyed reading and cooking. Helen will be remembered with love and greatly missed.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home, 25062 US 119, Belfry, KY  41514 with Dr. Dale Carey officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens in Huddy, Kentucky.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky.
