Obituary

Hazel Hurst Vice, 87, of Wilmore, KY, formerly of Hillsboro, KY, and Lexington, KY, passed away Friday, October 10, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospice in Lexington, KY. Born March 3, 1921, in Fleming County, KY, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Sarah Alta Caudill Hurst. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Forest, Harlan, and Oscar Hurst, and one sister, Lovell Cox. Her husband, Wensel O-Brien Vice, passed away June 30, 2000. Mrs. Vice is survived by two daughters, Betty Ann (Sammie) Cassity of Nicholasville, KY, and Peggy Lynn (Jack) Brown of Lexington, KY, and one granddaughter, Andrea Brown of Lexington, KY. Mrs. Vice was a retired postal clerk, homemaker, and farmer. She was active in the Hillsboro Methodist Church as a board member, Sunday school teacher, and youth leader. She was also a 4-H leader for many years in the community. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, KY. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2008, at the Hutton Funeral Home, Hillsboro, KY with the Rev. Chuck Cooper and Larry Sims officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Daybreak Community Church, 210 East Reynolds Road, Lexington, KY 40517. Visitation: Sunday, October 12, 2008, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral: Monday, October 13, 2008, at 11 a.m. Interment: Hillsboro Cemetery
