Hazel Barker Potts, age 79, of Skaggs Road, Morehead, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Life Care Center in Morehead. Born April 14, 1935, in Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Cozie Withrow Barker. She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Potts, whom she married February 14, 1953; two sons, Roger Potts and Anita of East Point, Michigan, and Michael Potts of Lexington; two grandsons, Robert Lee Potts II and Christopher Potts; and four great grandchildren, Ian, Garrett, Lydia, and Jubilee Potts. Other survivors include three sisters, Faye Hinton of Mansfield, Ohio, Jean Patrick of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Wilma Lewis of Morehead, and three brothers, John Barker of Morehead, Ernest Barker of Muncie, Indiana, and Robert Barker of Haldeman. Hazel was a supervisor at General Safety in East Detroit, Michigan, for 25 years. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Starcher officiating. Burial will follow in New Sill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Lee Potts, II, Christopher Potts, Darrin Patrick, and Roger Dale Hinton.
