Hazel Katherine Kidd Sparkman, age 86, of Mabry Drive, Morehead, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 2, 2020.
She was born April 30, 1934, in Rowan County, as was a daughter of the late Clarence Kidd and Minnie Dixon Kidd. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley Kidd and Clarence Kidd, Jr., and five sisters, Irene Luebkeman, Jewell Carr, Gladys Moreland, Charlotte Russell, and Patty McIntosh.
Mrs. Sparkman is survived by her husband of 70 years, Carl Clinton Sparkman; a son, Jerry Sparkman of Morehead; a daughter, Sherri Wilson and husband Randy of Morehead; two grandchildren, Miranda Wilson and Brian Wilson; four great grandchildren, Josey Ferguson, Mallory Wilson, Abner Wilson, and Caroline Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews; her beloved Shih Tzu grand-dog, Belle; other extended family members; and many friends.
She was a homemaker and retired from Imperial Cleaners where she had worked for many years. She was a devout Christian and faithful member of the Sharkey Baptist Church for over 20 years. Hazel was always early to every service. She enjoyed vacationing at the beach and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 227.
A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Harley Sexton, Jr. and Pastor Elijah Sexton officiating. For those who prefer to participate virtually, the service will be live streamed at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Facebook page beginning at 1 p.m. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Pallbearers: Forrest Cooper, Jack Lewis, Mike Sublet, Tom Mullins, Roger Davis, Ben Lewis, and Tom Lewis. Honorary pallbearers: Herb Hyatt, Bob Dyer, Jerry Sparkman, Randy Wilson, Brian Wilson, and Jim Tom Caudill.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Tri County Animal Shelter, 2450 KY Hwy 519, Clearfield, KY 40313.
COVID-19 regulations as set forth by the state will be observed.
