Obituary

Hazel Grace Kelly Gilliam, age 87, of Flemingsburg, formerly of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Maysville. Mrs. Gilliam was born July 29, 1925, in Fleming County, the daughter of Lindsey and Laura Smoot Kelly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Gilliam, and an infant daughter, Linda Gayle. Mrs. Gilliam is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Norman) Story of Flemingsburg; grandsons, Andrew (Carla) Story, Stephen (Sophrina) Story and great grandchildren, Gracie Sarah Story and Ty Reeves Story, all of Flemingsburg; and a granddaughter, Jessica Story of Northern Kentucky. Additional survivors include her extended family of caregivers at Maysville Nursing and Rehab Center, for whom she always had a smile. Mrs. Gilliam was baptized in the Ringos Mill Methodist Church in 1937 and for many years was a very active member in church activities. Later in life she also enjoyed participating in senior citizens activities. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Billie Wagoner officiating. A private burial will follow at the Gilliam Cemetery in Isonville, Kentucky. Visitation for Mrs. Gilliam is Saturday from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky. Visitation: Saturday, August 18, 2012, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. Funeral: Saturay, August 18, 2012, at 11 a.m. Interment: Gilliam Cemetery, Isonville, KY
