Hazel Marie Fouch Mabry, age 88, of Christy Creek Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 28, 2012, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Born August 30, 1924, in Rowan County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Lucy Gilliam Fouch. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death two brothers, Roy and Emery Fouch, and two sisters, Beulah Murphy and Leona Flannery. Her husband of 57 years, Ed Mabry, whom she married June 21, 1941, passed away October 9, 1998. An infant daughter, Kathy Ann Mabry, also preceded her parents in death. Mrs. Mabry is survived by three children and their spouses, Danny and Reshia Adams Mabry, Dale and Debbie White Mabry, and Linda Mabry-McKenzie and Terry McKenzie, all of Morehead, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Renee Collins Smith and husband Tim, Adam Mabry, Trista Mabry, and Aaron Mabry; and one great grandson, Kordell Smith. Other survivors include one brother, John Paul Fouch of Morehead, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and other family members. Hazel was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking She was renowned for being known as one of the best cooks in Rowan County and enjoyed entertaining friends and family in her home. She also greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a former member of the Morehead Woman's Club and was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mabry Cemetery in Elliott County.
