Harold Emil Stamper, age 75, of Stamper Ridge, Morehead, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at his residence.
Born September 22, 1948, in Elliott County, he was a son of the late Jake Stamper and Marie Brown Stamper Nickell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Anthony Harold Stamper; one daughter, Mary Rose Stamper; one grandson, Cole Harold Stamper; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Stamper and Frankie Stamper; and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Wallace.
Harold is survived by his wife of 14 years, Lisa Lazar Stamper, whom he married June 12, 2010; four sons, James (Leslie) Stamper of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Rod Hampton of Galveston, Texas, Anton "Tony" (Jereen) Stamper of Elliott County, and Will Stamper of Hayward, Wisconsin; one daughter, Karali Stamper of Winchester; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Chris Stamper of Hayward, Wisconsin.
Also surviving are 14 brothers and sisters, Belle Simpson of Madison Heights, Virginia, Nola Thompson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Ancil Stamper of Elliott County, John (Linda) Stamper of Elliott County, Leo (Melissa) Stamper of Dallas, Wisconsin, Jerry (Faye) Stamper of Elliott County, Bernard (Kym) Stamper of Barron, Wisconsin, Bobby Stamper of Hawkins, Wisconsin, Evelyn Craft of Portsmouth, Ohio, Dale (Buddy) Pennington of Wallingford, Richard Stamper of Elliott County, Ida Wallace of Clearfield, Dean (Jean) Stamper of Wheeler, Wisconsin, and Mitton (Rhonda) Stamper of Holcombe, Wisconsin; father-in-law, Raymond Lazar of Hawkins, Wisconsin; two sisters-in-law, Vickie Shafer of Fall Creek, Wisconsin, and Ann Lazar of Phillips, Wisconsin; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
Harold was a retired logger and a former cranberry and tobacco farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses and motorcycles, and playing poker. He will be tremendously missed and was greatly loved by all who knew him.
At Harold's request, a private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
