Obituary

Harold Gene Jones, age 72, of Clearfield, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017, at his home. He was born September 13, 1944, in Morehead, to the late Clyde and Virgie Perkins Jones. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Jones, and an infant brother, Gerald Jones. Harold is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Sexton Jones, whom he married May 13, 1965; one son, Tony (Sherry) Jones; one daughter, Kathy Jones and fiancé Clyde Clevenger; one grandson, Terry (Chelsea) Whitt, Jr., all of Clearfield; and one stepson, Billy Sexton of Morehead. Other survivors include one brother, Carl (Sue) Jones of Clearfield; two sisters, Bonnie Denton of Clearfield and Martha (Donnie) Thornsberry of Morehead, as well as other relatives and friends. Harold was a bricklayer for Jackson Builders. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandson Terry, camping, fishing, playing checkers and sitting on the porch. He will be missed by all, especially Terry Whitt, Jr., Kathy Jones, and Tony Jones. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Carlos Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery on Jones Ridge. Pallbearers: Terry Whitt, Jr., Tony Jones, Clyde Clevenger, Ronnie Wagoner, Ernie Wallace, Mitchell Terrell. Honorary pallbearer: Leonard Young. Visitation is 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
