Gregory Michael Smith, age 32, of Ashland, was born May 2, 1982, in Pikeville, and passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Michael is survived by one son, Kendrick Michael Prater of Majestic; his mother, Sherry Lynn Casey Smith of Sandy Hook; his father and stepmother, Gregory R. and Lisa Smith of Phelps; his sister, Megan Cox of Mt. Sterling and her two sons, Ian James and Ethan Cash Cox; his grandparents, Pat Casey, Bobby Smith, both of Phelps and Cora Sue and Sid Allen of Maxey Flat; special aunt and uncle, Mike and Tammy Casey of Maxey Flat; his fianc-e, Lynnette Helton and son Lucas of Ashland; an uncle Teddy Hickman and his sons, Joseph and Jared; and three stepsisters, Miracle Smith, Ginger Stanley, and Lisa Stanley and their children. Michael was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Clifford Casey. Graveside services and interment will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Morehead with family officiating.
