Gregory Alan Henderson, 53, of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at his home. Born July 11, 1961, in Ashland, Greg is the son of Billy Jerry Henderson and Barbara Sue Maddix Henderson of Olive Hill. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kim Plank Henderson, whom he wed December 30, 1991, in Lexington; a son, Billy Alan Henderson of Lexington; a daughter, Misty Dawn Henderson (Matt Fisher) of Lexington and a grandson, Jonathon Fields of Whitesburg. Greg is also survived by two sisters, Kathy Henderson Hargett (Dennis) of Olive Hill and Martha Henderson Boggs of Fayetteville, Ohio; and brother-in-law, Tim Boggs, as well as nieces and nephews, Travis Hargett, Stacy Hargett, Kaitlyn Boggs, and Macy Boggs. Other survivors include his sisters-in-law, Gayle Plank, Sara Plank Lambert (John) and brothers-in-law, Joe Planck (Brenda) and Tim Plank (Cheryl). He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him. Greg was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher Dale Henderson in 2003; maternal grandparents, Sam and Ida Lawson Maddix; and paternal grandparents, Clifford and Olive Swim Henderson. Greg grew up in Olive Hill, graduated from West Carter High School in 1979, and attended Morehead State University. He worked in HVAC, a trade he learned from his father. Recently, he retired from Morehead State University after 10 years as an HVAC Technician and will be honored for his service posthumously July 31, 2014. Greg enjoyed riding his motorcycles, creating stained glass art pieces, spelunking, and reading. He was a quiet volunteer with many organizations in Rowan County. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Adam Hawkins and Bryon Owens leading the Service of Remembrance. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery.
