Grace Lee Jackson Thomas, age 97, of West First Street, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at her residence. She was born December 30, 1911, in Bath County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Jess and Rosa Stull Jackson. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Conyers, on January 19, 2009. On September 28, 1928, Grace was united in marriage to her husband of 68 years, Roger Miller Thomas, who passed away May 6, 1997. She is survived by her son, John Paul Thomas and wife Jo of Morehead, Kentucky; two granddaughters, Paula Markwell and Cindy Crager; four great grandchildren, Alicia Rowe, Tina Kidd, Tyler Sargent, and Matt Markwell; and three great-great grandchildren, Aeriel Crose, Jason Crose, and Mickey Kidd. Grace and Roger were co-owners of Thomas Garage and Radiator Repair for a number of years. Grace was a member of the Johnson First Church of God. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ben Furman officiating. There is no visitation Serving as pallbearers are Mark Poston, Fred Crager, Joe White, Jimmie Hall, Buster Alderman, Don Jones, Jason Crose, and Steven Crose. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Johnson First Church of God Youth Group, 590 Cranston Road, Morehead, KY 40351.
