Gordon Kendall, age 86, of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, September 3, 2007, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born July 24, 1921, in Downham, Norfolk, England, to George and Clara Bywater Kendall. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Amanda Frances Stevens Kendall, whom he wed in Brooklyn, New York, on August 17, 1944. Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Kathie Kendall of Waleska, Georgia, and Richard and Linda Kendall of Russell, Kentucky; one brother, John Kendall of Kings Lynn, Norfolk, England; one sister, Joan Marshall of Knaresborough, Yorkshire, England; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Mr. Kendall served in the Royal British Army during World War II from 1939 to 1946. He came to Morehead, Kentucky, hometown of his wife, in 1947 and became an American citizen in 1952. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation in Ravenswood, West Virginia. He attended the Rodburn Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, September 6, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Larry Arbaugh and Pastor Roger Cummins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Rick Kendall, Mark Kendall, Rodney Hobgood, Lyle Looper, Lee Smith, Austin Williams, Scott Williams, Charlie Messer, and Rick Messer. Visitation is Thursday, September 6, 2007, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
