Obituary

Goldia Stevens Martt, age 95, formerly of Wallingford, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016, at Willows of Harrodsburg. She was born July 5, 1920, at Hayes Crossing in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle Wilson Stevens. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard Stevens, who died while serving his country in World War II; three sisters, Alma Hazel Johnson, Reatha Watson, and Amanda Frances Kendall; and one grandson, Gabriel Martt. Goldia's husband of nearly fifty years, Edward T. 'Thurman' Martt, passed away February 1, 1995. Mrs. Martt is survived by two sons: Edward (Glennis) Martt of Diamond, Missouri, and Stuart (Janie) Martt of Harrodsburg; four grandsons: Jack, Bill, Brice, and Weston; three granddaughters: Debbie, Courtney, and Brittany; and twelve great grandchildren. Mrs. Martt was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a devout member of the Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Visitation is from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
