Goebel Manning, age 99, of Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born October 9, 1913, in Ezel, Kentucky, the son of the late Isaac and Queen Victoria Adams Manning. Goebel's wife of 67 years, Ivora Vest Manning, whom he wed January 8, 1936, passed away May 4, 2003. He is survived by one son, Lowell Manning and wife Jody of Morehead, Kentucky; four daughters, Kathy Mullen and husband Bill of Morehead, Kentucky, Sylvia McGaughey and husband James of Frankfort, Kentucky, Bobbie Ferguson and husband Gary of Morehead, Kentucky, and Kay Manning of Morehead, Kentucky; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Mr. Manning retired from Morehead State University as maintenance supervisor following 30 years of service. He attended the Church of God and was an active member of Gideons International for more than 25 years. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
