Obituary

Glenville Ray Callahan, age 77, of Cold Spring Hollow, Morehead, formerly of Van Lear, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025, at UK St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead.

He was born July 29, 1947, in Morgan County, a son of the late Ova Callahan and Sarah Elizabeth Ison Callahan Buckner.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Hollon Callahan, whom he married March 27, 1974, and passed away June 7, 2005; their nine-year-old daughter, Cassandra Michelle Callahan; and two brothers, Menzil Buckner and Monroe Buckner.

Glenville is survived by six brothers and sisters, Allen Callahan (Dee) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Vernon Callahan (Rhonda) of Morehead, Mervil Callahan of Marion, Ohio, Patricia Spurlock (Omer) of Morehead, Sandra Lewis Preece of Woodruff, South Carolina, and Mitchell Buckner of Woodruff, South Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.

He was a retired truck driver for AC Massey Energy after 55 years of dedicated service. Glenville enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music, watching U.K. basketball and loved U.K. so much he painted his roof and several rooms in his home Wildcat Blue. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

At his request, no services will be held.
