Glenn Nelson Pennington, age 75, of Big Brushy Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born March 18, 1937, in Elliott County, Kentucky, a son of the late Charlie and Alta Fraley Pennington. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alpha Elaine 'Jackie' Sparks Pennington, who passed away November 7, 1995; two brothers, Randolph Pennington and Ronnie Pennington; and five sisters, Dorothy Dehart, Pearl Black, Ann Anderson, Gemmima Pennington, and Elizabeth Buttry. Glenn is survived by his wife, Gelana Martin Pennington; one son, Keith Nelson Pennington and wife Robin of Union, Ohio; one daughter, Michelle Renee Hatton of Morehead, Kentucky; three stepchildren, Milton Martin and wife Hope of Morehead, Kentucky, Donna Farris of Winchester, Kentucky, and Claudett Edie and husband Andy of Morehead, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Angel and Rachael Pennington and Madison and Reagan Hatton; and 10 step grandchildren, Jaclyn and Jayme Farris; Matthew, Caitlin, Dalton, Vada, and Sara Martin; and Jacob, Juleah and Adam Edie. Also surviving are five siblings, Lurene Ison, Leeona Tackett, and Nadine Downing, all of Morehead, Kentucky, and Laura Pennington and Marge Griffith, both of Fairborn, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Glenn served in the U.S. Army from 1959 until 1965 and retired from International Harvester in Springfield, Ohio, following 31 years of service. After moving to Rowan County, he was a school bus driver for a number of years. Glenn was a member of Bible Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jack Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennington Cemetery with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers: Keith Nelson Pennington, Jerry Caudill, Lawson Caudill, Tony Buttry, Chris Hatton, and Randy Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers: Vernon Tackett, Specks Buttry, Leo McRoberts, and Lonnie Mullins. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Monday, September 24, 2012, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at 11 a.m. Interment: Pennington Cemetery, Big Brushy Road
