Glenda Nell Peyton Caudill, age 86, of Morehead, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Nell was born July 31, 1936, in West Liberty, to the late Oscar Logan Peyton and Virgie Nickell Peyton.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ersil Caudill on May 15, 1998; five sisters, Rose Peyton, Rebecca Weddington, Kathryn Swisshelm, Ina Flannery, and Nina Caudill; and three brothers, Thomas Peyton, Daniel Peyton, and Talmadge Peyton.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Trent and husband Kennith of Morehead; two grandchildren, Logan Trent and wife Lindsey of Lexington and Kenna Trent of Los Angeles, California; one great-granddaughter, Lily Zora Trent; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

Nell was former employee of Cowdens Manufacturing Company and farmed with her husband Ersil. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, taught herself to sew, and was a great cook.

When she was able, she volunteered with the Rowan County Senior Citizens Center and competed and won many medals in the Senior Games. Nell was a long-time member of the Morehead First Free Will Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Joey Damron officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers: Kenny Trent, Logan Trent, Joe Gray, Paul Little, Virgil Caudill, Jr., David Dalton, and Joey Damron.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
