Gian Singh Bains, age 67, of Eagle Drive, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born January 1, 1950, in Punjab, India, he was the son of the late Charn Singh Bains and Dhanti Kaur Bains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Amarjit Bains. He is survived by his wife, Joginder Kaur Bains; one son and daughter-in-law, Manraj Singh Bains and Manjinder Kaur Bains of Morehead; five daughters, Hardeep and Parminder Manak and Mandeep and Mandeep Thind, all of Winchester, Rajwinder and Rajvir Ghag of Redding, California, Kulwinder and Jagjit Dhami of Stockton, California, and Manpreet and Balwinder Purewal of Morehead; two sisters, Mohinder Chahal of India, and Kirpal Uppal of U.K.; and 10 grandchildren. Gian was a former baker in San Jose, California, and farmer in Punjab, India. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2017, at Milward Funeral Directors, 159 N.
