Geraldine Crosthwaite, age 83, of U.S. 60 West, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012, at her residence. She was born May 22, 1929, in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Burl Millard Crosthwaite and Roxie Hall Crosthwaite. Geraldine is survived by two sisters, Wilma Jackson and Loretta Ferguson, both of Morehead, Kentucky; five nieces; two nephews; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Geraldine was known to her sisters as 'Gerl,' her friends as 'Jerry,' and her nieces and nephews as 'Nernie.' She was a devoted daughter, beloved sister, and a dear aunt to her many nieces and nephews to whom she seemed like a second mother. Following her graduation from Morehead High School in 1947, she began her working career at McBrayer-Pierce 5- and 10- Store and retired from a career in banking spanning more than 40 years at Kentucky Finance, Peoples Bank of Morehead, and The Citizens Bank. After retirement, she also worked for Kinder Construction. Geraldine was a longtime member of Morehead First Freewill Baptist Church. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and dear friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Starcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Bath County Memorial Gardens in Midland, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Brandon James, Richard Williams, Chris Cooper, Jared Taylor, Dwain Wallace, Kenny Taylor, and Claude Warren.
