Georgia Mae Pence Netherly Stamper, age 90, of Ringos Mill Road, Hillsboro, formerly of Morehead, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at her home surrounded by family. Born in Fayette County on August 1, 1927, Georgia was the eldest daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Speckard Pence. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Frederick Stamper, and also the father of her children, Herbert Joe Netherly; three brothers, Russell Pence, Fred Pence, Gayle Pence; one sister, Phyllis Joan Pence; and one grandson, Stephen Benjamin Egan. She is survived by her children, Joe Eugene "Gene" Netherly of Flemingsburg; Janet Netherly Egan and husband Steve of Hillsboro, Georgetta Netherly Sorrell and husband Kenneth of Salt Lick; daughter-in-law, Debbie Epperhart Netherly of Morehead; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Other survivors include two sisters, Maxine Pennington and husband Donald and Helen Branham, all of Morehead, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Georgia retired from Cowden Manufacturing after 30 years of dedicated service. A devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother, she enjoyed family gatherings, cooking and cleaning, sewing, working with her flowers, particularly her violets, working word search puzzles, and traveling with family and friends. A friend to all, Georgia always had a shoulder to lean on and a willing ear to listen. Encouraging and uplifting, she was a blessing to all who knew her. Georgia, most of all, loved her family and God. She had been a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Christian Church since she was 17 years old. Georgia was blessed. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Mt. Pisgah Christian Church with Pastor Jared DeAtley officiating. Burial will follow in the Pence Cemetery.
