Georgia Elizabeth Cartee Rice, age 91, of Haldeman Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born March 16, 1922, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Herbert E. and Mary Jane Artis Cartee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death one sister, Vada Joyce Parker. Her husband, Robert Waldo Rice, passed away January 31, 1986. She is survived by one sister, Coleen Yvonne Kelley of Morehead; one nephew, Richard A. Parker and wife Gary of Morehead; one niece, Mary A. Knipp and husband Austin of Morehead; one niece-in-law, Ruby M. Parker of Morehead, wife of the late Jack Parker; several great nieces and great nephews; and extended family members. Mrs. Rice was a homemaker, enjoyed reading, and was very faithful to her church. She was a charter member of the Morehead First Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Myron E. Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the J.O.U.A.M.-Eagle Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be John Knipp, William 'Eric' Henderson, Mike Parker, Chris Parker, Ed Knipp, Travis Henderson, and Brent Parker. Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
