George Michael Yuknus, known as 'Sooner' to his biker family, age 67, of Dry Creek Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at his residence after an extended illness. Born December 2, 1946, in New Jersey, he was the son of the late George and Mary Jo Sweeney Yuknus. Mike is survived by his wife of 16 years, Pamela Kathryn Center Yuknus, whom he married June 16, 1996; two sons, Michael Andreas Godyke of North Carolina, and Michael Yuknus III of Cocoa Beach, Florida; three daughters, Yolanda Yuknus of Morehead, Kentucky, Marie Yuknus of New Jersey, and Mary Jo Bambrick and husband Joey of Scotch Plains, New Jersey; and two grandchildren, Donald Joseph 'D. J.' and Marrisa Rose Bambrick. Also surviving are his siblings, Joseph Yuknus of Bound Brook, New Jersey, and Carla Bend of Robinsville, New Jersey, and his dogs, Fritzy and Cocoa. Mike retired from the U. S. Air Force after serving his country for 22 years. He was a member of Morehead American Legion Post No. 126 and a life member of the V.F.W. Post 1181in Valley Station, Kentucky. He enjoyed bass fishing, socializing with other veterans, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and supporting the Republican Party.
