George Patrick Duvall, 63, of E. Clack Mountain Road, Clearfield, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born October 8, 1951, in Patuxent River, Maryland, he was a son of the late George Albert Duvall, Jr., and Patricia Beth Lynch Duvall. George is survived by three children, Sara Duvall of Daytona Beach, Florida, Carlton G. Duvall of Clearfield, and Kathryn Duvall of Southgate and their mother, Judy Duvall of Lexington; two grandsons, Evan Michael Wilburn and Willy T. Elliott; one brother, Chris Duvall of Louisville; two sisters, Jo Dalene 'Jodi' Lesher of Coco Beach, Florida, and Cheri Noel of Louisville; Tanner Boyd, whom George considered a son; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. George served three years in the U.S. Army and was the recipient of the NDSM, SPsQualBad (M-16 Rifle), Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, VSM, Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge. He was a pipefitter for a number of years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 20 years of service. George was an avid gardener and farmer and enjoyed the arts. He was a prolific songwriter, having penned more than 500 folk and storytelling songs, played the guitar, and was an artist, who especially enjoyed pottery. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Morehead American Legion Post 126, P. O. Box 58, Morehead, KY 40351 Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead is caring for arrangements. Funeral: Private services at later date.
