Genevia Audrey Pendland Cameron, 88, of Kinder Branch, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Thursday, April 4, 2024.
She was born December 27, 1935, in Triplett Creek, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late John D. Pendland and Violet Williams (Pendland).
Genny was a Veteran of the US Navy and proudly served as a Corpsman in Chelsea, Massachusetts, where she met fellow Corpsman, Donald R. Cameron. Genny and Donald fell in love and were married shortly thereafter.
She was a member of the Clearfield Baptist Church and made wonderful friends there. She loved spending time with her family especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, nature, watching and feeding birds, music, kitty cats and watching old TV westerns such as Gun Smoke and Death Valley Days.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, 2 sisters and her husband of 53 years Donald R. Cameron.
She is survived by her children, Donald R. Cameron Jr., Isle of Palms, South Carolina; Cherie Cameron Smith, Morehead, Kentucky; Russell Wood Cameron, Morehead, Kentucky; and daughter-in-law Sandy Pusey Cameron and son-in-law Scott O. Smith. Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren Ashley (Hunter), Brie (Kevin), Cameron (Megan), Autumn (Adam), Branson and McKinley, and great grandchildren Carter, Cameron, Aspen, Caroline and Rohan.
She is also survived by three sisters, Betty, Jo and Sylvia.
