Geneva (Whitt) Howard, entered heaven's gates May 7, 2023. She was born on November 26, 1931, in Wrigley, Kentucky, to Jimmy and Bessie Lewis Whitt. She was raised in the small community of Wrigley, Kentucky, with nine siblings, one of which passed away during infancy.

As a young woman, Geneva met her husband, Merville Howard, with whom she had two children, David and Gerald. On a ridge in Elliott County, they lived and loved until she was widowed at a young age by a tragic accident. She worked for Cowden's Sewing Factory as a line supervisor until she retired and later took on house cleaning as well as child care for select families in Morehead.

Geneva sang on a regular basis at the neighboring churches, nursing homes, and senior gatherings with friends. Her faith and love for her Savior, Jesus Christ were shared with all she came into contact with including her later husband, Reverend Johnnie McVey, to whom she was married for over 20 years and remained friends thereafter.

She will be forever missed and loved by her son, Gerald (Kim); grandson, Scott (Angie); granddaughter, Kim (Danny); and four great grandchildren, Bryce, Kyndra, Montgomery and Aspen.

In addition to her parents and her husband Merville, she was preceded in death by her son, David, as well as her siblings Christine Perry, Burlin Whitt, Edward Whitt, Floyd Whitt, Charles Whitt, Lonnie Whitt, Derce Whitt, Milford Whitt, Roger Whitt (infant).

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Pastor Tracy Fannin officiating.  Burial will follow in Howard Cemetery in Elliott County.

Pallbearers:  Ronnie Whitt, Cheyenne Whitt, Scott Howard, Billy Wheeler, Rick Brown, and Danny Cleeton.

Viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
