Geneva Kathryn Gee Smith, age 91, of Franklin, Ohio, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014, at the Inn at Renaissance in Franklin, Ohio. Born August 9, 1923, in East Chicago, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Richard Samuel and Ethel Marie Christian Gee. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Gee; her husband, Richard Smith; and one son, Gary Smith. Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Carole Jean (Dan) McCaskill of Ranchos Palos Verdes, California, and Marilyn Sue (Rick) Sorrell of Monroe, Ohio; one son, Ronnie D. Smith of Lutz, Florida; one sister, Beulah Davis of Brookville, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Doug Smith, Angela Fierman, Rachael (Mike) Goldsmith, and Tiffany O'Neil; 6 great granddaughters; and 2 great grandsons. Geneva graduated from Morehead High School in 1941 and married Richard Smith. She and Richard spent most of their 67 years of married life in Franklin Ohio, where Geneva was a homemaker and owner of Geneva's Beauty Shop. She always enjoyed her family, cooking, sewing, gardening, and hairstyling. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gary McQuain officiating. Burial will follow in the Hayes Cemetery in Haldeman. Visitation is 12 noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
