Gearldine Cox Stevens, 76, of Pine Ridge Apartments, Morehead, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017, at the Vanceburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 31, 1941, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Charlie and Stella Belle Pelfrey Cox. She was preceded in death by her parents; her seven brothers and sisters, Charles, Jr., Virginia Mamie, Venice Faye, Eunice, Ollie Ray, Stella "Dolla," and Denver; and her husband, Curtis Stevens, who passed away on October 10, 2007. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Smith of Morehead; two grandchildren, Ada Smith and Jonathan Smith; three great grandchildren; Andrew, Leigh, and Erin Smith ; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Gearldine was a former employee of Aunt Jane's Pickles in Michigan, the Olive Hill Sewing Factory and Lexmark in Lexington. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Rivers and Brother Charlie Scully officiating. Burial will follow in Click Cemetery at Haldeman. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is 5 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
