Gavin Allen Thompson, age 38, of Monticello, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, at the Wayne County Hospital. Born March 28, 1976, in Rowan County, he is the son of Pamela Caskey Workman and husband Kevin of Lewisburg, West Virginia, and Greg Thompson and wife Barbara of Morehead. Other survivors include his fianc-e, Shana Lee Cummings of Monticello; six brothers, Andrew Workman of Huntington, West Virginia, Daniel Workman and Hunter Workman, both of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, John Thompson of Morehead, Tyler Thompson Drake of Florida, and Jeremy Armstrong of Morehead; paternal grandmother, Aileen Thompson of Morehead; three nieces, Aubree Thompson and Harper and Rider Thompson Drake; other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Emmitt and Opal Little Caskey, and paternal grandfather, William Allen Thompson. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God with the Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
