Gary Lee Whitt, age 61, of Fraley Cemetery Road, Morehead, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016, at his residence. He was born October 16, 1954, in West Liberty, a son of Nancy Jean Wagoner Horning of Morehead and the late Dallas Whitt. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Whitt, and two sisters, Charlene Whitt and Rhonda Whitt. His wife, Peggy Cornett Whitt, passed away on February 4, 2000. Gary is survived by his mother; one son, Jason Whitt of Morehead; one daughter, Cary Kiser and husband Byron of Ironton, Ohio; and six grandchildren, Chrissa Gabbard, Tyler Riddle, Virginia Whitt, Cheyenne Whitt, Logan Whitt, and Autumn Kiser. Other survivors include four brothers, Lonnie Whitt of Salt Lick, Joe Whitt and Lawrence 'Bub' Whitt, both of Clearfield, Dean Whitt of Sandy Hook; two sisters, Brenda Whitt and Janie Rice, both of Haldeman; as well as nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. Gary had been a farmer and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to Bluegrass music, and riding his 4-wheeler. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Ison officiating. Burial will follow in the Howard Cemetery on North Ruin Road in Elliott County. Pallbearers: Jimmie Aregood, Ricky Stevens, Lonnie Whitt, Jr., Daniel Burks, Joey Whitt, Josh Burks, Tyler Riddle, and Dalton Jessee.
