Gary Richard Morrison, age 51, of Island Fork Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017, at his residence. Born May 13, 1965, in Morehead, he was the son of the late Bobby Joe Morrison and Anna Jane Jones Morrison. His wife, Ronni Brown Morrison, preceded him in death on September 18, 2009. He is survived by one daughter, Shana Barnette of Owingsville; one sister, Lisa Ann 'Susie' Mitchell of Winchester; four grandchildren, Whitley, Gage, Harlee, and Kaden Barnett; and cousins, George (Sharon) Morrison, Jimmy (Jennifer) Morrison, Jason Morrison, Tyler Morrison, and Tanner Morrison. Gary was a U. S. Army veteran and a former mechanic at Fannin's Ashland and a union pipeliner. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2017, at Morrison Family Cemetery on Island Fork Road with the Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating. Military honors will be presented by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
