Garold "Bugs" Reid Lacy, Sr., age 84, of Morehead, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 29, 2026, at UK–St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead, surrounded by his loving family.

Born April 22, 1941, in Morehead, he was a son of the late Anderson Lacy and Gladys Stacy Lacy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twelve siblings.

Garold is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 63 years, Jewell Collins Lacy, whom he married on July 11, 1962; two sons, Garold "Scooter" Lacy, Jr. and his wife Sheila, and Rob Lacy and his wife Marsha, all of Morehead; one daughter, Regina Workman and her husband Tony of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, John Lacy, Ryan Lacy, Jon Lacy, Wes Lacy, and Kasi Burke; six great-grandchildren; a special sister-in-law, Jane Lacy Highfield of Morehead; and other extended family members and friends.

"Bugs" was a lifelong self-employed painter and a devoted husband, father, papaw, and great-papaw. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ginseng hunting, and watching the Cincinnati Reds and UK basketball. He will be greatly missed, and his life will continue to live on through the many memories held dear in the hearts of those who loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Wade Muncy officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Wes Lacy, Jon Lacy, Ryan Lacy, Tim Stevens, Chris Stevens, and George Morrison.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Morrison, John Lacy, Tony Workman, and Jerry Lacy.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, Kentucky 40351.
