Dr. Galen E. Castle, age 66, of Anchorage, Kentucky, suddenly passed away early morning at his residence on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. He was a graduate of Rowan County High School, where he lettered in football, as well as basketball. He went on to achieve a chemical engineering degree from Morehead State University and received his Master's degree from the University of Cincinnati. Along with these achievements, he also attended Marshall University (The Thundering Herd) which was the first class of medicine for Marshall University. He was one of twelve in a class of twenty-four to graduate with his medical degree. Dr. Castle is well revered by the many people and families he has so unselfishly touched and helped in their lives. He was the only child of the late Carson and Corrine Bradley Castle. Dr. Castle is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dora M. Castle; three children, Amy Castle Bradley and husband Shannon, Cory Castle-Collucci and husband Nicholas, and Thomas E. Castle and wife Amy; a stepson, Thomas Shelton; four grandchildren; and one very temperamental dog, Sophia. Dr. Castle wanted to leave all who read this, 'Nothing in life is easy, just dream about the future and never forget your past.' Funeral services will be conducted 4 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Turner A. Summers III officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
