Gabriel Christian James Smith, loving son of Dakota James Smith and Whitney Jo Thornton Smith of Pleasant Valley Drive, Morehead, Kentucky, joined the Heavenly Angels at birth on Monday, June 14, 2010, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Gabriel is also survived by one brother, Caden Smith of Olive Hill, Kentucky; maternal grandparents, Debbie Vinson Brown of Menifee County, Kentucky, and Greg Thornton of Portsmouth, Ohio; paternal grandparents, Benjamin and Alissa Sparks Smith of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; maternal great grandparents, John and Nancy Seeley Vinson of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; and paternal great grandparents, Dempsy Everett Smith of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Robert and Patty Dyer Sparks of Olive Hill, Kentucky. Gabriel was preceded in death by his paternal great grandmother, Bessie Maggard Smith. Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at Bradley Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky, with the Rev. John Tucker officiating.
