Frederick Melvin Dale, Jr., age 70, of Windstar Lane, Morehead, passed away peacefully Monday, February 16, 2026, at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born October 14, 1955, in Elmira, New York, he was the son of the late Frederick Melvin Dale, Sr. and Mary Lou McIntyre Dale.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Fair Dale, whom he married February 9, 1992; his six children, Julie Kemp (Ron) of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, Stacey Broughton (Jason) of Morris, Pennsylvania, Frederick Dale III (Courtney) of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Michael Durocher of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Matthew Dale (Evie) of Modesto, California, and Emilee Shaffer (Cody) of Junction City, Kansas; many loving grandchildren; one great-grandson; as well as friends and neighbors.

Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1974 until 1976.  He was a retired engineer and was of the Presbyterian faith. He enjoyed fishing and hunting—especially bat hunting with his children—listening to music, caring for his dogs, and enjoying homemade spirits. Most of all, he loved spending time with his "Sweetie," his children, and especially his grandchildren.

He will always be remembered and greatly missed as a husband, dad, ampa, and friend.

At his request, there will be no visitation or services held.
