Freda Lambert Johnson, age 86, of Ashland, formerly of Morehead, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Born July 7, 1928, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of Edna Mae Lambert, who passed away when Freda was 13 months old. Raised by her maternal grandparents, the late Floyd and Vesta Riddle Lambert, she was also preceded in death by five brothers, Ollie, Charles, Estill, Ora, and Rev. Leo Lambert; one sister, Grace Vaught; two sons, Danny Wayne Johnson and Douglas Dale Johnson; and two grandsons, Dakota Johnson and Christopher George Johnson. Freda's husband, Ivo 'Chick' Johnson, passed away January 28, 1991. She is survived by three sons, James 'Jimmy' Johnson and wife Dorothy of La Jara, New Mexico, Jesse Johnson and wife Donna of Russell, and Greg Johnson of Corpus Christi, Texas; one daughter, Dianna Johnson of Ashland; one brother, Glennis Lambert of Florida; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Freda was a former nurse's aide at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead and Fairfield Hospital in Lancaster, Ohio. She was also a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking. Freda, a loyal friend to everyone, always had an open door for both family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Mausoleum. Pallbearers: Randy Jones, Dakota Jones, Logan Brammer, Buck Kelley, Lakota Johnson, and Daniel Johnson.
