Francis Marion Callahan, age 65, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born October 13, 1945, at Blaze, Kentucky, in Morgan County, he was the son of the late Willis Green Callahan and Mamie Collins Perry Callahan. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Delbert Callahan, Garland Perry, Edward Callahan, and Brent Callahan, and two sisters, Geraldine Brown and Patricia Dearinger. He is survived by his wife, Amanda Faye Lewis Callahan, whom he married March 15, 1968; two sons and daughters-in law, Joey and Christi Callahan of Ewing, Kentucky, and Kyle and Amanda Callahan of Morehead, Kentucky, and three grandchildren, Zachary Callahan, Abigail Callahan and Sarah Jo Callahan. Other survivors include two brothers, Jack Perry of Johnson County, Kentucky, and Bill Callahan of Kearneysville, West Virginia. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Katie. Francis served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Ironworkers Local 769 in Ashland, Kentucky. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, meeting his morning coffee crew at McDonalds, working in his yard, and tending to all of his beautiful flowers. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Starcher and Rev. Herbert D. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Perry Cemetery at Blairs Mill, Kentucky. Pallbearers (Nephews): Jimmy Brown, Eddie Callahan, Terry Callahan, McKee Lewis, James Lewis, and Roy Lewis. Honorary pallbearers: All Ironworkers and Wales Trent. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Visitation: Friday, August 19, 2011, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Saturday, August 20, 2011, at 11 a.m. Interment: Perry Cemetery, Blairs Mill, Kentucky
