Frances Alene Harris Jaynes, age 89, of South Willow Drive, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at her daughter's residence. Born March 25, 1926, in Carter County, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Edna Kibbey Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Erma Mulkey Harris; two brothers, James Harris and George W. 'JR' Harris; three sisters, Mildred Glass, Pearl Wilson, and Mary Lois Kirk; and one stepsister, Ernestine Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Carl Madison Jaynes, Jr., on June 30, 2003. Mrs. Jaynes is survived by her three children, Robert Jaynes, Brent (Regina) Jaynes, and Cheryl (Patrick) Jones, all of Morehead; four grandchildren, Jonathan Paul Caudill, Justin Alan Jaynes, Tyler Jones, and Whitney Faith Jones; one brother, Wayne Thomas Harris of Lebanon, Oregon; one stepsister, Betty Roberts of New Orleans, Louisiana; granddog, Happy Rene Jones; and several loving nieces and nephews. Frances was a 1945 graduate of Prichard High School in Grayson. A homemaker and an accomplished seamstress, she enjoyed cross stitching, sewing, and U. K. basketball. Most of all, she was devoted to family and her life was always centered on family activities. She was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Mike Jones, Tyler Jones, Heath Lambert, James Allen Lambert, Mike Flannery, Trent James, Zack James, and Steve Rigsby. Honorary pallbearers: Barry Knipp, Justin Alan Jaynes, and Bill Buelterman. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
