Nancy Florence Foley Mitchell, age 89, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010, at her residence. Born April 29, 1921, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late James G. and Ira Lee Skidmore Foley. Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Walter E. Mitchell, on November 1, 1998; one grandson, Michael Stidam; and a sister, Ruth Barber. Survivors include a son, Walter E. Mitchell, Jr. and wife Francine of Maineville, Ohio; four daughters, Ruth Richardson and Regina Hornsby of Wellington, Kentucky; Susan Daniel and husband William of Georgetown, Kentucky; Carolyn Stidam of Morehead, Kentucky; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and a special friend and caregiver, Janice Vanhook. Florence was a member of the Elliottville Baptist Church. She was active in several organizations including Mt. Sterling Rebekah Lodge #82 of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and had served as Past President of the Rebekah Assembly; Ladies Auxiliary Patriarchs Militant Branch of Independent Order of Odd Fellows; and the Rowan County Homemakers. She was an avid collector of dolls and was a member of the Cave Run Doll Club for many years. Florence was a graduate of the Winchester Beauty College and owned and operated a beauty shop in Clearfield, Kentucky, for several years. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Willie Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Keith Pack, Fred White, Freddy White, John Northcutt, Jerry Ravenscraft, Allen Ravenscraft, Kenny Adkins, Eddie White, Robbie Ginter Honorary Pallbearers: Members of the Elliottville Baptist Church and Mt. Sterling Rebekah Lodge #82. Special Honorary Pallbearers: Grandsons and Granddaughters. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Monday, December 20, 2010, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at 11 a.m. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
